Carolyn Ann Smith, age 65, of Richmond, passed away suddenly on Friday October 4, 2013, at Reid Hospital and Healthcare in Richmond. Born on December 5, 1947, in Winchester, IN she was the daughter of William and Louise (Gaines) Coby.
Carolyn was employed as a housekeeper at Rosewood Terrace. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Richmond Senior Community Center, reading, drawing, painting, spending time with family and friends, and most importantly her cat Miss Purdy.
Survivors include her children: Daniel (Holly) Smith of Tucson, AZ, Shirley (Bill) Young of Richmond, Jackie (Dave) Buchanan of Selma, Leighann (Les) Hoggard of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Tony (Debbie) Dobson of Lebanon, TN; mother Louise Luttrell of Somerset, KY; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers Larry (Diane) Coby of Redkey and Danny Coby of Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father William Coby, Step-father Walter Luttrell, and fianc Earl "Butch" Dobson.
Friends may call on Tuesday October 8, 2013 from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie. Funeral services for Carolyn will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. The Reverend Darrel Bowden will be officiating.
