Obituary

Carrie Philomean Marks Paxson, 88, of Muncie passed away Thursday May 2, 2013, at The Woodlands. She was born to the late Augustus and Harriet (Wilson) Schoonover in Oshkosh, Nebraska, on April 23, 1925.
Carrie was a homemaker for most of her life and also took part in several memberships, which include Gilead Church, American Legion Auxiliary, EnAvante, and Penn Township Home Economics Club. Carrie was well known for making and demonstrating nylon net scrubbers.
Survivors include children Fran (Dwight) Gibbs of Tucson, Arizona, Charles (Joyce) Marks of Muncie, and Lucy (William) Mickler of Dunkirk; grandchildren Bruce Estep, Glynn Barber, Tracy McCarty, Tiffany Schwartz, Marlena Daniels, Melissa LaPorte, Larry Marks, Alex Mickler, and Zach Mickler; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great- great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by first husband Fred W. Marks and second husband Fred M. Paxson; children Shirley Estep, Glenna Barber, Wayne Marks; grandchildren Carrie Estep and Tammy Detweiler.
Friends may call on Sunday May 5, 2013, from 2-6 p.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
