Carroll G. Turner, age 69, of Parker City, IN passed away on Friday May 15, 2015 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center, Parker City. Born on February 12, 1946 in Coffee County, Tennessee, he was the son of Raymond and Winefred (McCullough) Turner.
Carroll attained his teaching degree from Ball State University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Carroll was later employed with General Motors, where he worked as a machine operator and various jobs until his retirement in 2006 with 38 years of service. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and also enjoyed watching college football and basketball games.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of Parker City; son Phillip (Miriam) Turner of New Castle, IN; daughter Tonya (Matthew) Johnston of Eaton, IN; step-grandson Nick Johnston; 2 brothers George (Pat) Turner of Noblesville, IN and H. Layne Turner of Arizona; 4 sisters Geraldine Turner and Peggy (Theodore) DeFronzo of Elkhart, IN Alice Wagner of Fort Worth, TX, and Julia (Joseph) Lee of Shipshewana, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters
In accordance with Carroll''s wishes private services with military honors will be held.
Burial in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
