Cassandra Klemme Smith, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Legacy Crystal Falls Health Center in Leander, Texas. Born on November 22, 1944, in Hamilton, Ohio, Cassandra was the cherished daughter of the late Albert Edward Ziepfel and Lenora Elizabeth (Klemme) Ziepfel.

On August 15, 1984, Cassandra married her soulmate and the love of her life, Charles Thomas Smith. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and faith. Cassandra's gentle spirit and giving heart were evident in everything she did. A devoted member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cedar Park, Texas, she found great joy in serving others through her involvement with Open My World Therapeutic Horseback Therapy and the Hill Country Community Ministries Thrift Store in Leander.

Cassandra had a gift for making everyone feel at home. She always went out of her way to ensure that anyone who stepped into her home felt loved and cared for. Whether it was with a warm hug, a listening ear, or a homemade meal, she made sure every guest left with a full heart and a good meal in their belly. Her kindness and hospitality were as steady as they were sincere, and her home was a place of peace and comfort for all who entered.

Her legacy lives on through her children, Kevin Wayne Lancaster (Kristin) of Leander, Texas, and Bradley Kenneth Lancaster (Debra) of Cedar Park, Texas; her eleven beloved grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life; and her dear brother, John Albert Ziepfel (Sandy) of Hamilton, Ohio.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents and her beloved husband, Charles, whose memory she held close to her heart.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. St. Rd. 3, Muncie, Indiana.

The funeral to celebrate Cassandra's life will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, officiated by Josh Johnson. She will be laid to rest at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Cassandra's honor to Open My World Therapeutic Horseback Therapy or Hill Country Community Ministries—two causes that were close to her heart.

Cassandra will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
