Catherine Elizabeth Thorpe, 92, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at IU Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City. Liz was born on November 2, 1918 in Muncie to the late Charlie Frederick and Minnie Belle (Shaw) Thorpe. She was one of thirteen children. Liz graduated from Muncie Central High School.
Liz was a Department Manager for Reynolds and Reynolds Paper Mill in Dayton, OH for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking.
Liz is survived by her remaining siblings: brother Ralph Thorpe of Muncie and sister Rosemary Strauch of Muncie; sister-in-law Katie Thorpe of Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; and 6 sisters.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Ron Ross officiating.
