Cathy (Niccum) Howard, 58, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at her home in Muncie, Indiana following a yearlong courageous battle with cancer.
Cathy was born December 6, 1956 in Muncie, Indiana. She graduated from Wes-Del High School in 1975. She worked for the Royerton Latch Key program for 6 years and as a substitute teacher for Delcom Schools for 17 years. She was also very passionate about her work with special needs children at Delcom Schools. Cathy attended Corinth Christian Church. She was a member of the Matthews Chapter of the Eastern Star and had been a scout leader. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, John Howard; a son, Curt Howard (wife Ashley) of Albany; her mother, Joyce Niccum of Gaston; three grandchildren, Cody, Carly, and Clayton Howard; and a sister, Carol Niccum of Muncie.
Cathy is preceded in death by her father, Freddie Niccum; and sister, Coni.
A funeral service to celebrate Cathy''s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2015, one hour prior to service Saturday at Garden View Funeral Home.
