Charles G. Anderson, 86, of Redkey, IN died Tuesday January 19, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He was born on October 7, 1923 in Albany, IN the son of Elmer and Lena (Helms) Anderson. He married Esther Mae Anderson who preceded him in death on January 31, 2001.
Charles served in the US Army during WWII in the 24th division. He was employed with Chevrolet of Muncie for 35 years. He attended the United Church of Anderson. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed camping, horseback riding and farming.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Charlie Anderson (wife: Darlene) of Portland, IN; Steve Anderson (wife: Cathy) of Anderson, IN; one brother, Max Anderson of Mississippi; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; several loving extended family members including brothers and sisters-in-law; and many friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, and brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 23, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society.
