Obituary

Charles A. Schafer (Buck), 79 of Muncie, died Tuesday afternoon, October 18th, 2016 at his residences following an extended illness. He was born November 3rd, 1936 in Hartford City, IN and was the son of the late Everett V. & Margaret J. (Tucker) Schafer.
Charles was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, watching WWF Wrestling, collecting coins, and enjoyed trains. He retired from Indiana Steel Wire after 29 years as millwright. Charles loved his family greatly and enjoyed his pet dogs, Ginger, Lady Bug, and Fussbudget.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty L. (White) Schafer of Muncie; two sons Danny Schafer (Lori) of Albany and Jackie Schafer (Carol) of Muncie; a daughter Kathy Wolfe of Muncie; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters Ruth Ann Gaines (Paul) of Parker City and Eleanor Oda of Losantsville; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Ellen, Betty, Margaret, and Mary; brothers George, Ralph, Joe, and Johnny.
Funeral Services for Charles will be held Monday, October 24th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Goar officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes provided at the funeral home
