Charles Gerald Hite passed away February 29, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness.  He was born March 26, 1938 in Huntington, West Virginia.

He honorably served three years in the United States Navy.  Charlie was married to his loving wife Peggy for over sixty-five years; they moved to Indiana in 1965.  He drove for HLH Products before driving for Marsh Supermarket, and retiring from Ruan transportation after twenty-nine years.  After retiring, Charlie spent several years as trustee at F.O.E #231, and also volunteered with his wife Peggy at Bingo.  He was so fond of "his people" as he called them.

His children meant the world to him.  He's survived by three sons: Charles (Chuck) Hite Jr, Larry Hite, and Chris Hite (Tina), eight grand-children: Ryan Flowers (Nicole), Daniel Flowers, Charles (Chad) Hite III, Lindsey Hite, Sydney Hite, Tyler Hite, Haleigh Hite, Caden Hite, and step granddaughter Taylor Groves.  Brother James Hite.  Brother-in-law Brian Flowers.

Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Rebecca Flowers, parents Alfred and Ethel Hite and nine siblings.

A private graveside service will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
