Charles "Howard" Larsen, 88, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. He was born on September 12, 1937, in Van Buren, Indiana, to L.P. and Emily (Warren) Larsen.

Howard married Joyce Louise (Bowman) Larsen on January 11, 1969, and they spent 55 years together before Joyce passed away on February 11, 2024. She was the love of his life, and her passing left a hole that was never quite filled.

Howard was a simple man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially his trips to Canada with friends, which were always a highlight of the year. He also had a soft spot for his dogs, Tinker Bell, Angel, and Brownie.

He owned and operated a Plating company alongside his wife and grandson, Craig Day, in Muncie for many years and took pride in his work. He believed in doing things right the first time and built a strong reputation in the community.

Charles is survived by his children, Penny (Bill) Shearer of Gas City, Peggy (Bill) Badders of Muncie, Indiana, Frieda (Tom) Howard of Muncie, Indiana, Danny (Patricia) Crose of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Sally Larsen of Las Vegas, Nevada. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will all miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mayme Southgate, Christine Dickerson, Mary Stroop;  and Thelma Gail Clay; his brothers George Larsen and Robert Gene Larsen, James Bassett (Bass) Larsen and John E. Larsen and stepbrothers Orville Southard and Dennis Stringer; daughters Katherine Thompson, Joyce Crose, and his first wife Loretta Toller Larsen.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N State Road 3, Muncie, Indiana.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Josh Johnson.
A graveside service will take place afterward at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N State Road 3, Muncie, Indiana.

Howard will be remembered as a hardworking man who loved his family, his dogs, and the quiet moments in nature. He didn't need much to be happy, just good company, a fishing pole, and time with the people he cared about.
