January 21, 1941 – April 20, 2025
Charles "Chuck" Leonard Pilkington, 84, passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1941, in Meade, Kansas, to Cloyd and Mary (Courtney) Pilkington.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, and his five children: Kimberly, Robert (Angela), and David (Hope) Pilkington, as well as JD (Kristin) and Bryan Jablonski. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Reilly (Levi) Noble, Alexandria, Rachel, Sasha, Jackie, Daniel, Kurtis, Evelyn, and Olive.
He graduated from Muncie Central High School and went on to attend Ball State University, where he studied Geology and Natural Resources. Throughout his career, Chuck worked as a skilled tool maker at several factories in the Muncie area, including Delco-Remy, Chevrolet, and Delphi.
On November 11, 2008, Chuck married the love of his life, Nancy, in beautiful Kauai, Hawaii. They celebrated their honeymoon on the island and shared a devoted, loving partnership that endured until his passing.
Chuck lived life to the fullest—always active, always curious. He had a lifelong passion for racing cars, golfing competitively, and bowling. In retirement, he earned his pilot's license, built model airplanes, and became an avid reader of suspense novels. His love of aviation inspired him to research and build intricate models of historic planes and ships, developing a deep knowledge of aviation history. Chuck was a man of strong faith, member of High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie.
