Charles "Mike" Anderson, 65, went home to be with the Lord with his loving wife of forty-two years by his side Saturday morning, October 24, 2009.
He was born April 29, 1944 in Muncie, the son of Charles L. and Helen L. (Eiler) Anderson. Mike was raised by his grandparents, Jesse and Myrtle Eiler and attended Royerton High School.
Mr. Anderson was a past member of Eagles Lodge F O E #231 and the Teamsters Local #135.
Mike drove a dump truck for forty-two years, until his retirement from Broadway Trucking in May of 2009. He enjoyed fishing, his dog "Baby", and spending time with his family and friends.
Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Margaret A. (Thrasher) Anderson; his son, Arthur "Doug" Anderson (Sally), Muncie; three daughters, Rhonda Thibodeau (Fianc-Frank Bonish), Lyman, ME; Lana Higdon (Keith), Muncie; and Susan "Susie" Taylor (Eric), Daleville; seven grandchildren, Jessie Oliphant, Kayla Anderson, Cami Taylor, Megan Taylor, Shane Thibodeau, Abby Thibodeau, and Krysta Colwell; a great-grandson, James Michael Oliphant; his mother, Helen Knight, Muncie; three brothers, Gary Anderson (Mel), LaGrange, IN, Jerry Anderson (Nancy), Selma, and Billy Anderson (Sherrie), Selma; five sisters, Annabell Bailey (Steve), CA, Gayle Kinsey (Russ), Muncie, Shelia Wright (Mike), Muncie, Tammy McClure, Muncie, and Jenny Mason (Phil), Selma; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sissy Anderson; his father, Charles L. Lewis; and his dad and mom, Jess and Mert Eiler.
Services will be held in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, with James Christal officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday or one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
