Charles Myron Murphey, 87, of Albany, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday afternoon, February 3rd, 2015 at Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 20th, 1928 in Albany and was the son of the late Walter C. & Julia M. (Whetsel) Murphey.
Charles enjoyed fishing, IU Basketball and Colts Football. He was a toolmaker at Borg-Warner in Muncie. He retired in 1988 after 33 years of service. Charles married his late wife Golda F. (Reynolds) on May 1st, 1950.
Charles is survived by his three children, Melinda Murphey, Thelma Thompson (Marvin), and Randy Murphey; three grandchildren, Tonya Harris, Matthew Murphey, and Nicole Fields. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Walter Murphey, and a sister Chivilla Bridges.
Funeral Services for Charles will be held Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Denny Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 6th, 2015 at the funeral home.
