Charles C. Poynter, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his home in Daleville, Indiana.
Charles was born October 28, 1939 in Pulaski County, Kentucky to the late Charles and Nora (Garrison) Poynter. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Korea. Charles spent his life in management, Machine operation, and farming. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Charles is survived by his best friend and wife, Debbie (Smith) Poynter; son, Scott Poynter; two daughters, Lisa Swingley (husband Rich) and Tammy Schuck (husband Mike); two step-sons, Brad Briggs and Joshua Smith; two step-daughters, Sharon Campbell and Katherine Kelley; three siblings, Norman Poynter, Eddie Poynter (wife Jeannie) and Dorothy Metcalf; four grandchildren, Sarah, Shannon, Annie, and Emma; several step-grandchildren, nieces , and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife Sue Ann (Fisher) Poynter; friend and partner, Jessica Fay Tank; step-daughter, Karen Sue Briggs; and four sisters, Juanita McCollum, Beryle White, Geneva Wells, and Barbara Holcomb.
A funeral service to celebrate Charles'' life will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 3, 2016, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3 in Muncie, Indiana. Pastor Andrew Draper will officiate. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Friday at Garden View Funeral Home.
