Charles E. Scott, 83, passed away early Thursday evening, May 6, 2010, at the Parkview Health Care Center of Muncie following a brief illness.
He was born on June 26, 1926 in Evansville, the son of Elmer and Virlie (Crawford) Scott. Charles attended Sullivan County Schools. Charles married the love of his life, Mary (Wright) Scott on May 8, 1954 in Muncie.
Mr. Scott served the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He retired as a line worker from the Muncie Chevrolet plant later known Hydromatic after 24 years of service.
Charles was a member of the Avondale Sympathy Club and the United Auto Workers Union #499.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Scott, Muncie; a son, Charles T. Scott, Muncie; two grand daughters, Rebecca Ann York (husband, David), Muncie and Ashley Martin, Muncie; a brother, Bobby Scott (wife, Leona), Toledo, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Jones, Sullivan, June Scott, Evansville and Mary Chambers, Newburg; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Vicki JoAnn Martin; two brothers, Thomas and Clarence Scott; two sisters, Jean Stanley and Wanda Leroy.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 1:30 p.m. at the Gardens of Memory with Rev. Rusty Clements Officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory north of Muncie.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Parson Mortuary.
