Charles Lee Smithers, 34, of Daleville, died unexpectedly Friday, December 13th, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born November 11th, 1979 in Muncie and is the son of Marjorie Jean (Rosenbaum) Smithers and the late Lee Roy Smithers.

Charles worked construction, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a heart of gold and loved to help anyone. He loved being with his family and friends.

Charles is survived by his mother Marjorie Jean Smithers of Daleville; a sister Christina Smithers of Daleville; a nephew Hunter McCall of Daleville; aunts, Sandra Skeen (Randall), Vicky Upchurch (Fletcher), and Lynn Webb (Eric); uncle Charles Smithers (Mary); several cousins; his best friends Jeff, Jamie, and Justin Gruwell. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernard & Mabel Rosenbaum; paternal grandmother Rosalee Smithers.

Funeral Services for Charles will be held Friday, December 20th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
