Charles " Chuck" Russell Street, 82, of Muncie, IN passed away Tuesday May 20, 2008 at ElmCroft Health Care of Muncie. He was born on February 4, 1926 in Frankfort, IN the son of Argalus R. Street and Mary E. (Holmes) Street. In 1947 he married Betty ( Westerhouse) Street whom precedes him in death.
Charles was an avid sports fan and he loved fishing, He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving relatives include two daughters: Sherry Batt (husband Larry) of Gaston, IN, Becky Sheffield of Muncie, IN, one brother: William Lee Street (wife Marilyn) of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters: Alice Phillips of Frankfort, IN, Martha Swope of Phoenix AZ, four grandchildren: Larry J.Batt (wife Amy) of Gaston, IN, Brian Batt (wife Libby) of Gaston, IN Charles " Chase" Batt of Muncie, IN, Mandy Lowe (husband Matt) of Muncie, IN, three great grandchildren: Trevor and Tucker Lowe and Phoebe Batt and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one brother: Kenneth Street.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m.on Friday May 23, 2008 at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Thursday May 22, 2008 from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to the local Muncie VFW or Action For Animals.
