Charles Paul Weist, age 83, of Schererville formerly of Carrollton, KY and Muncie, IN passed peacefully away on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born in Princeton, IN on March 3, 1924 to Frank and Eva (Dagenhart) Weist. He married Jo Ann Hunt on June 17, 1948 they lived in Muncie, IN for 40 years, where he was a member of the Muncie Boat Club. Charles retired after 40 years as a welder and steam fitter for Local #661.They moved to Carrollton, KY and enjoyed retirement for 20 years. They are members of First Baptist Church of Milton, KY. One year ago they moved to Schererville, IN to be near their only daughter.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo Ann (Hunt) Weist 1 Daughter: Susan (John) Williamson of Schererville Daughter-in-law: Sally Weist 4 Grandchildren: Michael Weist, Mindy Weist, Heather Williamson and Angela Williamson Preceded in death by his 2 sons, Mickey Edward Weist and Charles Paul Weist, Jr., 3 brothers; Elwood, Frank and Barney Weist, 2 sisters; Mary and Barbara And parents; Frank and Eva Weist
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN with Pastor Earl Dukes, officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Monday, June 11, 2007 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
