Charlotte (Lottie) J. Dean, 92 of Muncie, died early Thursday morning, March 15, 2018 at Signature Healthcare. She was born September 4, 1925 in Vienna, Austria and was the daughter of the late Robert & Ernestine Petzl.

Charlotte met William Dean, who was stationed in Vienna with the United States Army just after WW II. They married February 14, 1948 in Vienna and came to the United States in September of 1948.  They settled in Dunkirk and later moved to Muncie, where he started work at the Central Indiana Gas Company.  Over the years, she has worked at many places including Dunkirk Glass Factory, Ball Stores, Haney Pharmacy, Wells Department Store and Kings Department Store.  She enjoyed traveling, singing, playing cards, gardening, reading, art books and galleries, entertaining friends and family and cooking. Charlotte was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a member of a German Club in Muncie. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Charlotte is survived by her two children Heidi Graham and Mike Dean (Shannon) both of Muncie; six grandchildren Keith Graham (Mimi) of Apache Junction, AZ, Tanya Kiser (Todd) of Muncie, Kristen Dean of Muncie, Lesley Byrd (Jimmy) of Muncie, Brooke Greer (Jason) of Middletown and Stephen Dean (Jordan) of Valparaiso; six great-grandchildren Isabella Kiser of Muncie, Josie and Logan Byrd of Muncie, Hallie and Abigail Greer of Middletown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William H. Dean; a son Robert Dean; three brothers Karl, Robert and Ernstel Petzl, and a sister Dely Petzl.
