Charles Wayne Vester Sr. of Muncie, IN. passed away on Thursday February 9, 2023 at the age of 80. He passed away peacefully in his home with his beloved wife, Betty by his side. Charles was born in Shelburn, Indiana, on September 3, 1942 to James and Sadie Vester. He was the sixth of eight children. Charles was an avid bowler, who started as a pin setter at the Candlelight and the bowling alley at Hotel Roberts. The bowling alley is also where he met Betty in 1966. Chalres served in the Army from 1962 until 1965. He was in the Army motor pool as well as payroll. After the Army, Chalres worked until his retirement in 2006. He spent his retirement years with family and friends. Chalres and Betty spent 55 years together traveling and watching their childrenn, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, father, siblings James Vester, Francis Johns Fred Vester, Mary Iles, and Bob Vester. Charles is survived by his wife Betty, His siblings William Vester and Nancy Compton, and brother and sister in law Dwight and Belinda Said. His sonsCharles Vester Jr, Bobby Fisher, and Daughter BethAnn Fredrick. Granddaughters Rhiannon (Michael) Lehman, and Abigail (Trent) McDavid, Great granddaughters Riley McDavid, Erin McDavid, and Mackenzie Lehman, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling will be on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Garden View Funeral Home at 10501 N. St. Rd. 3, Muncie, Indiana from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Delaware County Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Rites with burial to follow at Gardens Of Memory Cemetery.
