Obituary

Chris Alan Cumings, 60, of Muncie, IN. a loving husband and father went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 27, 2008 at St. Vincent''s Hospital in Carmel; IN. Chris was born on May 27, 1948 in Muncie,IN; the son of Herman and Noelene (Cross) Cumings. He married Vickie Hernley in May 1981 and they spent 27 years together raising their family and serving God.
Chris graduated from Royerton High School in 1966. He was employed at Riggin Dairy and Seyferts. He retired from his favorite job at Frito Lay in 1990. Chris was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship Church and loved spending time with his church family and praising God.
Chris was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching games with his family and friends. Chris was also proud of his family''s Scottish heritage and working on projects in his woodshop.
He is survived by his loving wife Vickie Cumings of Muncie; five children, Mark Cumings (wife Gretchen) of Muncie, Bryhan Cumings of Muncie, Matt Cumings of Muncie, Kim Cumings Of Califorina and Carissa Strohl (husband Roger) of Portland, six grand children; Keirstien, Keifer, Krista Cumings, Dustin Poling, Alesha and Ka''rel Cumings; two gret-grandchildren; Haley Cumings and Issac Scott; one sister, Sharon Sewell of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Noelene (Cross) Cumings and his brother Danny Cumings.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday September 3, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church 1010 E. Centennial Ave. Muncie. Pastor Sam Wrisley will officiate the service. Inurnment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Memorials can be made in memory of Chris Cumings, envelopeds are available at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. State Road 3 Muncie.
