Christine Rhum, 72, passed away Wednesday evening, December 23, 2009 at her home.
She was born July 25, 1937 in Sunny Brook, Kentucky, the daughter of Bessie (Kennedy) Lowe and Denton Lowe. Christine grew up in Kentucky and moved to the Muncie area in the 1950's.
She enjoyed working in her yard; cooking for all of her family, and her favorite time was being with her family on Friday nights watching TV, eating popcorn and drinking pop.
Survivors include four sons, Perry Rhum, Muncie; Daniel Rhum, Muncie; Charles Rhum, (wife-Becky), Marion and John Rose, Muncie; one daughter, Phyllis Rhum, Muncie; two brothers, Roy Lowe, Losantville and Robert Lowe, Kentucky; three sisters, Bonnie Beard, Muncie; Maxine Wright, Muncie and Wilma Allred, (husband-Rev. Willard), Losantville; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar Rhum, who passed away in 1991; two sons, Bobby Rhum and Donnie Rhum; one grandson, Christopher Rhum; one sister, Ethel and three brothers, Edward; Earl and Eugene.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Rev. Willard Allred and Rev. Gerald Holmes officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 or after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
