MUNCIE - Christine F. "Cricket" Silvers, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Parker Heath Care following an extended illness.
Christine was born on November 5, 1930, in New Castle the daughter of Jesse and Ollie (Bunch) Cable, and attended New Castle Schools.
Mrs. Silvers worked for over fifteen years with Ross Supermarket before her retirement in 1989. She was a member of New Life Center Church of God.
Survivors include three sons, David Silvers, (wife, Angel "Jody"), Farmland, Johnny Silvers, Centerville, and Bryant Silvers, Muncie; a sister, Charlene McCorkle, (husband, Dale), McMinville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Heather, Ryan, Abby, Hannah, Holly, and Jonathan Silvers; a great grandchild, Julius Silvers; a special nephew Kris McCorkle, (wife, Paula) McMinville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over forty-eight years, George Lee Silvers and a daughter, Beth Ann Silvers.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Tom Sells, officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary one hour prior to time of service on Saturday.
