Clara M. Connell, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 13, 2010 after an extended illness.
She passed on to heaven while surrounded by her loving family.
She was employed and retired from Elgin Manor Apartments. She was a member of True Vine/ Gateway Family of Christ Church and served on the Mother's Board.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of forty-three years, Claudell Connell; three daughters, Sheryl Kirksey, Wardetta Davis (Ernest), Dana Connell (companion, Dorian Wilford Sr.); one daughter-in-law, Velvest Roberts; three sister-in-laws, Shirley Gillum (Charles), Dorothy Ivy, and Jeanette Connell; one brother-in-law, Larry Connell (Pauletta); eight grandchildren, Denise Hunter, Charles Roberts Jr, Tiffany Blair, Ryan Jabali Davis (Shayla), Jamal Roberts, Justin Davis, Kylah (Tweeter) Moore, and Dorian (Punk in-Man)Wilford II (DJ); ten great grandchildren; two nieces, Janell Athalone-Afrika (Shawki), Sheila Athalone-Williams (Robert); two nephews, Daryl Athalone (Rutha) and Anthony Athalone; a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, and special relatives in the extended Connell Family.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Ginnie Athalone; a brother, Earl Athalone; loving son, Charles "Mike" Roberts Sr.
Funeral service is 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at True Vine/Gateway Family of Christ Church, with visitation two hours prior.
Burial in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN.
