Clarence Odell Conatser, 85, passed away Sunday October 25, 2009 at his home in Jamestown, TN, surrounded by his five children, Lois Willis, Ed Conatser (companion, Mary Jo Boggs), Mary Ross (companion, Jim Pyle), Don Conatser (wife, Debra) and Roger Conatser (companion, Lisa Love) all of Muncie; sisters, Beachel Creselious, Lura Odum and Opal Dixon; and brother, Kermit Conatser; along with care giver and special nephew, Glen Creselious all of Jamestown, TN.
In addition , he is survived by step-daughters, Debbie Melendez (husband, Joe) and Diane Holland and step-son, Scottie Holland. He was blessed with thirty grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Nettie Conatser; and brother, Clay Conatser all of Jamestown, TN.
Odell was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army 178th Combat Engineers and participated in the Battle of The Bulge, under the command of General George Patton.
After moving to Muncie, in 1953, Odell became a pioneer in the Heating and Cooling business working with several companies before forming partnerships with A-1 Heating and Service and Conatser Heating and Cooling, until retiring in 1990.
While in Muncie, Odell was a giving volunteer serving with the VFW, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge and was Past President of the Eagles Lodge for more than thrity years. Most recently Odell was a charter member and Chaplin of the Jamestown, Tn. American Legion Post 137.
Prior to returning to Muncie, the family will have calling hours at the Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church Monday October 26, 2009 from 5-7 p.m.
Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown will return Odell to Muncie, IN to Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday October 28, 2009.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Garden View Funeral Home.
Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
Military rites will be provided at the burial site by the Delaware County Honor Guard.
