Clay Ramsey, 73, of Albany, IN died Saturday April 21, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness. He was born on March 7, 1934 in Morrison, TN the son of Reeder and Belle (Myers) Ramsey. On September 25, 1954 he married Lucille Whisenant (Ramsey) who survives.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After 30 years as Personnel Director at General Motors in Muncie, Clay retired in 1983. From 1983-1997 he worked for Jim Davis (Garfield Cartoons).
He was a member of the Desoto United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming, working in the yard, golfing and the outdoors. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 53 years, Lucy Ramsey of Albany, IN; two daughters, Lisa Kappel (husband: Kevin) of Nashville, TN; Dena Flanagan (husband: Terry) of Lafayette, IN ; one brother, Reeder Ramsey, Jr. of Muncie, IN; two sisters, Kathleen Smith of Rocky Face, GA and Florence Boyd (husband: Huston) of McMinnville, TN; two grandsons, Bradley Clay Kappel, Kyle Alan Flanagan, two step-grandsons, Todd Jerrid Flanagan, and Jacob Tyler Flanagan. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Irene Pearson, and one brother, David Ramsey.
