Clovis Hensley passed into the arms of Jesus on December 20, 2025 at Muncie Estates Senior Living at 92 years old.

Clovis D. Hensley was born in a one-room log home on his family farm in Tennessee on June 11, 1933 to Everett and Creola Hensley. When Clovis was in the 2nd grade, his family moved to Muncie, IN where he attended Blaine School. Growing up, he played baseball, football, and ran track.

Clovis enlisted in the army in 1950 and served 3 years as a supply sergeant at Post Headquarters in Ft. Leonard, MO. In 1953, he graduated from high school in Waynesville, MO. He returned to Muncie and worked at Delco Remy in Anderson for over 38 years, retiring in 1993.

In 1981, he married Shirley Kennedy and stepped into the role of father to her six adult children and their growing families.

Clovis was an avid bowler and spent 42 years in leagues such as the Hoosier All Stars and the Central Indiana Bowling Association Senior Citizens. He was a proud member of the Bowling Hall of Fame.

Clovis and Shirley enjoyed traveling together, particularly their trips out west and many winters in Florida.

Most of all, Clovis loved going to church, attending Union Chapel since 1991, and spending time with his family who he loved dearly.

Clovis is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one infant sister, and his daughter, Sue.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Shirley; his brother, Everett; and multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

His memory will be cherished by his family and all who knew him.

A service will be held at Union Chapel, 4622 N. Broadway Ave. Muncie, IN 47303 on Monday, December 29. Calling hours will be 2:00-3:00 with the funeral beginning at 3:00.  Gardens of Memory has been entrusted with arrangements.
