Clyde Meadows, age 98, of Muncie, was born in Whitley City, KY. He passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at IU Ball Hospital. He had lived in Muncie since 1950. He worked in the coal mines of Kentucky, and he also worked at McCormick Brothers in Albany and Muncie Marble. He was a member of Local 1112 and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Clyde is survived by six sons, Dean (Judy) of Muncie, Clyde Jr. (Sheila) of Goshen, IN, Charles (Faye) of Broken Arrow, OK, Kenneth (companion Diane) of Muncie, Jim of Muncie, and Jack (companion Sara) of Muncie; five daughters, Juanita (James) Johnson of Gary, IN, Charlene Smith, of Muncie, Belle (Jim) Bilbrey of Clark Range, TN, Nora (Clarence) Stacy of New York, NY, and Kathy (Roger) Dytmire of Muncie; 33 Grandchildren, 56 Great Grandchildren and 17 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Laura (Jones) Meadows, his wife, Mary, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3 Muncie 47303 with burial to follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
