Clyde L. Poe, 96, died Monday, March 31, 2008 in the Golden Living Center, Muncie, where he had resided the past eight months.
The son of William and Anna Mae (Small) Poe, he was born March 22, 1912 in Grant County. Clyde graduated from Marion High School in 1930 and married Marian Evans on August 3, 1935 in Marion. Mr. Poe was the owner of Gaston Grain Company where he worked for many years. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
He is survived by three daughters: Marilyn (Gail) Edgerton, Hartford City, Judy (Jack) Tapy, Muncie and Elaine (Jim) Stottlemyer, Eaton, a brother, Carl (Eathel) Poe, Lees Summit, MO, grandchildren: Rick (Mary Lou) Edgerton, Ft. Wayne, Jon (Tammy) Edgerton, West Harrison, IN, Brian Edgerton, Kokomo, Lori (Tim) Fry, Muncie, Scott (Sharon) Hahn, Eaton and Aaron (Erica) Hahn, Anderson, 15 great-grandchildren, a special nephew, David Poe, Yorktown and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Marian, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Roger, Earl, Ray and Kenneth Poe, a sister, Goldie Julian and a son-in-law, Joe B. Hahn.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am, Friday, April 4, 2008 in the Eaton First Church of God, 700 E. Harris St., Eaton, with Pastor Steve DeLisle presiding. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Friends may call from 4-7 pm, Thursday, April 3 at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
