Cora Louise Martin, age 92 of Gaston, passed away on Friday July 24, 2015 at her residence. Born on January 23, 1923, in Manchester, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Jim and Lilly (Rogers) Argo.
Cora played basketball for the Manchester High School basketball team, where she was an all-star player.
On December 13, 1946, she married the love of her life William Martin.
Cora enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and most of all Life. She was a member of Town Acres Church of Christ in Muncie.
In addition to being a homemaker, Cora also worked for French Steam Dry Cleaners and as a cook at the Wes-Del Cafeteria
Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years William "Bill" Martin of Gaston; a son Deryl Martin of Gaston; a daughter Vicki (Paul) Wright of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Lilly Argo, brothers John, Corbly, and Jodie Argo, and sisters Grace Sanders, Mary Watson, Lelo Jergans, Mildred Page, and Jean Hill.
Friends may call on Tuesday July 28, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie.
Funeral services for Cora will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday July29, 2015 at the funeral home, with calling one hour prior to service.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
Memorial contributions in memory of Cora may be made to American Cancer Society or to I.U. Health Ball Hospice.
