Obituary

Croford B. Terry, 73, of Muncie, IN, passed away July 3, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 30, 1936 in Scott County, TN to the late Charlie E. and Minnie L. (Owens) Terry.
Croford worked for Chevrolet for 1 ½ years and then Delco Battery for 37 ½ years before retiring. He was also a member of Church of Christ & Christian Union in Muncie as well as Delco Sympathy Club. He loved to tinker with automobiles, loved to fish, enjoyed wood working, enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains, and enjoyed singing at church.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 15 ½ years, Shirley J. (Atkins) Collier Terry; son, Ranzie E. Terry (wife: Julie) of Muncie, IN; 2 daughters, Cathy L. Glass (husband: Jim) of Anderson, IN; and Linda S. Gardner of Muncie, IN; 2 step-daughters, Connie E. Neal (husband: Arnold) and Beth A. Upchurch (husband: Dennis), both of Muncie, IN; brothers Hollas L. Terry (wife: Lora) of Losantville, IN; and Arzo Terry of Oneida, TN; 2 sisters, Wilma L. Burchfield and Ivanelle Blevins (husband: Milford), both of Oneida, TN; step-mother-in-law, Ruth Atkins of Frostproof, FL; 4 grandchildren, Trenda Matheny; Travis Matheny; Mariah Terry; and Marisa Terry; 3 step-grandchildren, Nathan Neal (wife: Karina); Jason Neal; and Craig Upchurch; 2 great-grandchildren, Casey Myers and Gage Overbey; and remaining relatives; special friends Johnny & Alice Willliams and Kenneth & Barbara Boles.
Croford was preceded in death by his parents; and mother of his children of 38 years, Mildred (Rains) Terry.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Rev. Kenneth Boles will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to ALS Association (The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association), 6525 E. 82nd St., Ste. 115, Indianapolis, IN 46250 in memory of Croford.
