IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia "Cindy"
Hyneman
February 7, 1955 – June 3, 2025
Cynthia "Cindy" Hyneman (Boram), 70, of Yorktown (formerly of Pendleton),
passed away on Tuesday, June 3 after years of persistent health challenges.
She is now at peace.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband of over 21 years, Steve Hyneman of
Yorktown.
She was the proud mother of Jason (Darcy) Brooks of Yorktown and their
sons, Micah and Joey. Carly (Casey) Temple of Fishers and their daughter
Quinn and son Wyatt. She is also survived by her stepson, Kyle (Kasey)
Hyneman of Muncie, and their sons, Karter, Kolton, and Kooper Jack.
She is also survived by her parents, Gerald and Laura Lee Boram of
Pendleton; her brother Mark Boram of Markleville; sisters Beth (John) Cannon
of Lawrence and Amy Lawson of Pendleton; and many beloved extended
family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her former husband Rod Brooks and her
stepdaughter Carly Hyneman.
A 1973 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School, Cindy worked for many
years as a dedicated pharmacy technician and insurance coordinator in
Pendleton, Muncie, and Yorktown, until declining health led to her early
retirement.
Cindy and Steve were married in 2004 on the shores of St. Pete Beach,
Florida—her favorite place. They shared countless beach memories and quiet
days by their pool or in their cozy Florida room. Together, they loved
exploring flea markets and antique shops - always on the hunt for hidden
treasures.
Cindy was known for her love of family gatherings—organizing bonfires,
planning reunions, and hosting euchre card nights. She loved having their
grandkids over for pool gatherings and cookouts. One of her fondest
memories was a family reunion she planned at Piney Point, Tennessee, a
place she had loved since childhood. Cindy was also a talented slalom skier
in her younger years, making waves at Piney Point and Lake Lemon with her
children and extended family and friends.
After Steve's retirement from IU Health North in 2019, he devoted himself
full-time to caring for Cindy, a testament to their deep bond and shared life
together.
Though illness gradually dimmed her vibrant spirit, many will remember
Cindy for her sweet, fun-loving personality, warm heart, and unwavering love
for her family.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
