Dana S. Fruitt, age 75, of Muncie, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation. She was born August 31, 1935 in Gaston, IN to Robert and Helen (Long) Lewellen.
Dana graduated from Gaston High School with the Class of 1953. She was formerly a Regional Sales Manager for WLBC radio. Dana was a member of Job''s Daughters in her youth and she enjoyed spending time with her cats, family and friends. She is now free of suffering from a lifetime of debilitative arthritis and is in a better place.
She is survived by her sons, Kelly J. Pierce (wife Rise'') of Gaston and Tracy L. Fruitt (wife Deanna) of Gaston; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jenna M. Pierce, of Muncie and Brittney M. Fruitt of Gaston; aunt, Naomi Colip, of Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Kim R. Pierce.
A small graveside service will be held Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie with Pastor Ty Thompson officiating. Garden View Funeral Home, Muncie, is assisting with arrangements. The family requests, following with Dana''s wishes, in lieu of flowers, tax free memorial contributions may be made to A.R.F.
