- Danny Joe McKinney, 66, entered his heavenly home in paradise on June 25, 2018 with his wife, Jennifer; his son, Derrick and his daughter, Dawn by his side.  Danny battled cancer and fought the good fight for seven months.

Danny was born in Portland, IN on May 5, 1952.  He grew up with four brothers (Mike, Pat, Tim and Rick) and one sister (Paula).  He graduated from Muncie Southside High School and remained in the Muncie area.  Danny grew up shooting archery with his family at Paul's Archery Center.

Danny was a skilled framer with his business, McKinney's framing and built houses all over the state.  His work has been recognized in Muncie, Richmond, around Geist reservoir and in Woodland Trails.  Danny was an avid hunter.  He traveled many places with his best friend, Benny Felton, to hunt many types of game.  Danny said that the woods was his "quiet place" and nature was where he experienced God.

Danny traveled all over the United States to support his son, Derrick with motocross.   Danny loved to ride his Harley Davidson and met many dear friends along the way.

Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Reed.  His three children, Danielle McKinney of Pensacola, FL; his son, Derrick McKinney (girlfriend, Jessica) of Hendersonville, TN and Dawn Richman (husband, Justin) of Muncie.  His two step-daughters, Shelby (husband, Casey) and Riley Johnson. Danny has five grandchildren; Cody, Christopher, Cerenati, Dominick and McKinna.  And one great grandson, Elijah.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Paul McKinney; his mother, Betty McKinney and his brother, Tim McKinney.
