Danny M. Ring 61, Muncie, IN passed away Saturday July 19, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1947, in Delaware County, IN the son of William L. Ring and Lois (Smith) Ring.
Danny loved fishing and spending time with his family, friends, neighbors and work associates. He was a great all around athlete, and a very spiritual person who attended several churches. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Danny worked for Chevrolet for 13 years before finding his passion for police work. He started in 1979 for the Eaton police department as a reserve officer then later he became a full time deputy marshal for several years. He was a Delaware County Reserve Officer and a dispatcher for Delaware County too. For the last 5 years he has been a security officer for Huffman Security at Saint Gobain Container of Muncie, IN. He belonged to the F.O.P. and was a little league coach for his children and grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include a long time companion and life long love, Joy Catron. Three sons Jeremy Ring (wife Amanda) of Dunkirk, IN. Justin Ring (wife Kristen) of Noblesville, IN and Thomas Canan (wife Ann) of Glenwood springs, CO. Three daughters, Kristi Gossage (husband Aaron) of Rushville, IN Kristi Bailes (husband Shawn) of Knoxville, TN and Kelli Crisp (husband Shane) of Knoxville, TN. One brother Rickey Ring (wife June) of Mount Pleasant, IN. Thirteen grandchildren, Daniel, Kylie, Makenzie, Erin Josh, Japheth, Kendra, Autum, Signe, Gabriel, Katie, Harter and Hayden. Several nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and mother of his children Karen Renner and special friend Denny Kowalski.
He was preceded in death by his father, grand parents and a brother-in-law Rusty Keihn.
Services will be Thursday July 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie IN 47303. Pastor Tom Kerr will officiate the service. Viewing will be on Wednesday July 23, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home Muncie. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery Muncie, IN. In Leu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to the Little Red door of Muncie or the F.O.P. and the Cancer Center at Ball Memorial Hospital.
