Darwin Leon Warrell, Sr., 80, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, May 11, 2012, at his residence in Muncie. He was born November 27, 1931, in Hagerstown, Indiana, the son of Virgil and Flossie Elizabeth Southers Warrell. He served in the Army, during the Korean War, and was employed by Indiana American Water Company for twenty-five years prior to his retirement. He was a charter member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ in Muncie, IN. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Crum Warrell, to whom he had been married fifty-seven years; three sons, Darwin Leon "Buddy" Warrell, Jr., Muncie, Gregory Allen Warrell, Muncie, and Pastor Jeffery Wayne Warrell, (wife, Heather), Summitville; his grandchildren, Christie Warrell and Mandy Denney, both of Muncie, Ross Warrell, (wife, Shannon), Florida, Amber Warrell, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Hannah Warrell and Joshua Warrell, both of Summitville; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, William "Bill" Warrell, (wife, Evelyn), Lafayette; two sisters, Deloris Emenhiser, Muncie, and Edna Sowells, (husband, Dale), Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Virgil "Hopp" and Martha Warrell; two sisters; and his daughter-in-law, Robin Warrell. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ, Muncie, IN, with his son, Pastor Jeffery Wayne Warrell, officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory with military rites being conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Parson Mortuary or an hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
