David Allen Bryant, 62, of Selma, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 19, 1948 in Muncie to Marvin Bud'' Marcus and Kathleen Judy'' Julia (Fletcher) Bryant. David is a 1966 graduate of Southside High School. David is a U.S. Army veteran. On August 7, 1995 he married his love, Linda Ann Flannery in Muncie.
David worked on the grounds of Ball State University for 28 years before retiring 3 weeks ago. In high school David played football, wrestled, and was on the track team and was a star in all three sports. David enjoyed hiking, traveling to the West, and flower gardening. He also loved to work cross-word puzzles and puzzles in general. When not working or attending the garden, he was a homebody who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.
David is survived by his parents Bud and Judy Bryant of Muncie; his loving wife, Linda Bryant; 2 children: Bruce A. Bryant of Muncie and Brianna J. Pierce (husband, Ivan) of Crown Point; step-son Elijah Fairchild of Muncie; 4 adorable grandchildren: Tyler, Ryleigh, Ryan, and Grady Pierce; brother Stephen Bryant (wife, Terri) of Muncie; aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Veteran''s of Delaware County Honor Guard.
