David Lee Carter of Muncie, Indiana passed away at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 66. He was born on October 15, 1954 to Robert Lee Carter and Auretta G. Sparling in Bloomington, Indiana.

David graduated from high school, completed some post-graduate work, and married Susan G. Lewis on July 9, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as a Machinist at Yorktown Tool and Die.

David is survived by his mother, Auretta G. Sparling (Ron) of Yorktown, Indiana; wife, Susan G. Carter of Muncie, Indiana; son, Matthew R. Carter (Mallory) of Daleville, Indiana; daughter, Cassandra M. Kimbrell (Justin) of Woodland Park, Colorado; brother, Wesley Sparling of Glendora, California; sister, Elaine Marter of Scottsdale, Arizona; granddaughter, River Rose Kimbrell; three nieces; three nephews; and two great nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Carter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12 at 1:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home, officiated by Carl Stone. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
