David Brian Dishman, 49, of Muncie, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at his residence. He was born on January 31, 1961 in Muncie to Thelma (Stinson) and the late Willard Francis Dishman. David is a 1979 Muncie Central High School graduate. David also attended Ball State University. On August 6, 1988 he married his love, Amy Hartmeyer.
David was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He knew no stranger. He enjoyed watching his children play sports; fishing; golfing; and spending time with his family and friends. He was quick to tell a joke. David was employed at Munsee Foods for 15 years as plant manager. He was also an Indiana All-Star for Muncie Central''s baseball team in 1979.
David is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Amy Dishman; their 5 children: Tate, Teaghan, Tannon, Tynan, and Tyce Dishman, all of Muncie; mother Thelma Dishman of Muncie; brothers Steve Dishman of Muncie and Bill Dishman (wife, Monta), of Indianapolis; sister Pam Koger (husband, Dan) of Muncie; mother-in-law Barbara Hubbard (husband, Don) of Farmland; father-in-law John Hartmeyer (wife, Carol) of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews. David''s good friends would include Dan Delk, Nick Parsons, and Wayne Fisher.
David was preceded in death by his father Willard F. Dishman and his grandparents.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Center Chapel United Methodist Church, 900 W. Royerton, Muncie, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Delta High School Tennis Shelter House Project, c/o Tim Cleland at Delta HS.
