David Lee Pierce, age 58, of Muncie, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 after an extended illness. He was born January 30, 1953 in Muncie to Clyde Lewis Pierce, Sr. and Ruth Ann (Crabtree) Pierce. David attended Southside High school and graduated with the Class of 1971. He worked in maintenance for Muncie Community Schools. David was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish.
He was married for 33 years to the former Evonda Bow, and she survives along with his mother, Ruth Ann; daughters, Stephanie Bright, (husband Jamie), and Shawnette Hummer, (husband James), all of Muncie; brothers, Bill, Guy, and Walter Pierce, (friend James True), all of Muncie; sisters, Christine Pierce and Sandy Poore, both of Muncie; grandchildren, Angel and Kaylyn Bright and Zaryonna Hummer; five nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Sr., brother, Clyde Jr. and sister, Jessie Pierce.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN 47303, with visitation from 4:00 PM until service time. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Alzheimer''s Association, 9135 N. Meridian Street, Ste. B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46209.
