David M. Smith, 19, of Muncie, passed away Saturday morning October 30, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Dave was born November 7, 1990 in Muncie to Michael D. and Kimberly D. Smith. He was a 2009 Delta High School graduate. He enjoyed life to the ultimate fullest. His most favorite pass time was chilling and listening to tunes and playing video games with all his dudes.
Dave also loved to compete at many sports. His favorite being baseball, and most recently golf and canoeing.
Dave, unlike most, loved to work. His most recent proud moment was his enlistment into the National Guard. His dream was to go to school and then go active in Special Forces.
David is survived by his parents, Michael and Kimberly Smith; his brother, Derek Smith; paternal grandparents, Vernon and Sharon Jackson; maternal grandparents, Jim and Trudy Sullivan; uncles, Brian Smith (wife Angie), Darrin Sullivan (wife Rachel), and Matt Pannell; aunts, Dawn Smith (husband Joe Walker) and Leslie Pannell; cousins, Josh, Jake, Alyssa, Allison, and Brady Smith, and Landon and Rylan Sullivan; God parents, Brian and Amy Benbow; several great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins; and a group of wonderful friends that he really loved, for real man!
David was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gary Smith; an uncle, Scott Smith; and a cousin, Geoffrey McGill.
A Funeral to celebrate David's life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave, Muncie. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery North of Muncie.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 and one hour prior to services Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Delta High School Athletic Dept. with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
