Della M. Bowden, 67, of Muncie, Indiana passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Muncie, Indiana April 20, 1947. She was the daughter of George Carter, Sr. and Ella Mae (Griffee) Brooks.
Della was employed at Sheller Globe and Indiana Pressed Steel. She retired in 1989. She was an avid reader and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family very much.
She is survived by: her loving husband of 44 years, Gene; her children: Jerry Constant (companion Debbie); Mike Constant (wife Trena); Ronnie Constant (companion Tammy); Bobby Bowden; Melanie Thompson; Monique Morgan; adopted son, David Paul. Siblings: Ruth Lephart (Tom Brown); Inky Garner (Pete); George Carter, Jr. (Brenda), John Paterson (Sherry), 9 grandchildren, 11 great grand-children, and 1 on the way, several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver Tammy Morgan. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bonnie Larson (Jack), stepfather Robert E. Brooks, Sr.; and a stepbrother, Robert E. Brooks, Jr.
Funeral Services for Della will be held Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ballenger officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cancer Service Delaware County Little Red Door, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
