Dennis Dean Green went home to be with Jesus at the age of 85 on Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was born on June 23, 1940, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Clarence Green and Berdina (Luce) Green.

Dennis married the love of his life, Shirley Mae Griffis, on December 28, 1958, after meeting her at the Gibson Skating Rink. He proudly served in the United States Army from March 1960 through March 1966, achieving the rank of Specialist Five INF and earning recognition as an Expert Sharpshooter.

A devoted family man and hard worker, Dennis found great joy working in his yard and garden. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his love for his family.

He is survived by his sons: Gary Green and wife Kyle, Barry Green and wife Kim, Brian Green and wife Deena; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Rita Green and Sharon Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Berdina Green; his beloved wife, Shirley Green; and his brothers, Larry Green and Donald Green.

Visitation will be held September 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Rory Bond officiating. Services will take place at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, IN 47303. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie, Indiana

Dennis will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
