Derrick Eugene Mace, 28, of Yorktown, went home to be with Jesus, Thursday, April 5, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born September 28, 1989 in Muncie and is the son of Eldrenda Smith.

Derrick was a graduate of Muncie Central High School. He loved working on antique cars, fishing, and being with family and friends. Derrick was the owner/operator of Action Cleaning and Landscape.

Derrick is survived by his fiancé Karina Mercer of Yorktown; a son Landen Mace and another son to be born in June; his mother Eldrenda Smith of Muncie; brothers Cody Bentley (Nicole Ridgeway) of Muncie; his grandmother Donna Smith of Muncie; uncle Shane Smith (Jeanette) of Yorktown and his son Justin Smith cousin; great-grandmother Ella Butler of Muncie; great-aunt Linda Gardner and cousins Kim and Tony Swartz; several close family and friends also survive. Derrick was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard Smith and Brooks Mace; his future father-in-law Gary Mercer; great-grandparents William and Rozelle Smith and Cletus Eugene Butler.
