Dixie McGuire, age 77 of Muncie, passed away on Sunday August 23, 2015 at her residence. Born on April 22, 1938 in Muncie, she was the daughter of Charles and Marian (Maitlen) Gray.
Dixie was a lifetime area resident and was a graduate of Central High School.
She worked as a retail merchandiser and was a member of Bethel United Baptist Church in Muncie.
Dixie enjoyed flower gardening and watching hummingbirds, but most enjoyed homemaking and hosting family gatherings.
Survivors include her daughters Natalie (Mike) Huggins and Nancy (Doug) Jones, both of Albany and Sharon (Tim) Smith of Selma; grandchildren Nick Huggins, Chris Huggins, Adam (Jaik Driver)McLachlan, Laura (Brandon) Howell, and Hannah Smith; brothers Jerry (Mary) Fritz and Bob (Karen) Gray, both of Columbus, OH and Jimmy (Janice) Fritz of Muncie; sisters Janet (Joe) Heath of Selma and Shirley (Harry) Mullican of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry McGuire, sister Nancy Conway, and brother Charles Fritz.
Funeral services for Dixie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday August 27, 2015 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. Indiana 3, Muncie, with calling two hours prior to service.
Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
Memorial contributions in memory of Dixie may be made to the donor''s choice.
