Dixie J. Swift, 72, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on January 28, 2025. She was born on February 3, 1952, in Portland, Indiana, to Richard and Jane Thomas.

Dixie was a 1970 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Shortly after, on February 7, 1970, she married the love of her life, Steven Swift, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Dixie had a vibrant spirit and a love for fun. She enjoyed visiting casinos, playing bingo, and sharing stories with friends and family. Her excitement for life and warm personality made her a joy to be around. She never met a stranger and could turn any outing into an adventure.

Dixie is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Swift; her sons, Jeromiah Swift (wife, Angie) of Bowling Green, KY, and Brian Swift (wife, Melinda) of Scottsville, KY; daughter, Kristen Swift-Downs of Muncie, IN; brother, Richard Thomas (wife, Mary) of Muncie, IN; sister, Debbie McKillip of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, Hunter Swift, Garrett Swift, Brinley Swift, Coulter Swift, and Peyton Downs.

Dixie is preceded in passing by her parents, Richard Thomas and Jane King; and grandchild, Alexis Swift.

Family and friends may call at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N St. Rd. 3, Muncie IN 47303, on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Ellen Brannon officiating at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
