Donald E. Bonner, 79, of Muncie, IN died Friday April 29, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born in Muncie, IN on February 10, 1932 the son of Herman and Ruby Christina (Hastings) Bonner. He married Carmen Stone of Redkey, IN on February 10, 1999.
Donald worked 43 years for Indiana Steel and Wire. He was a member of the IOOF, the Eagles Lodge in Alexandria, Moose, and Boy Scouts of America for several years. He enjoyed bowling. He served in the National Guard.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife Carmen Bonner of Muncie, IN; two sons and one daughter, Tony Bonner (Sheila) of Albany, IN; Donald Bonner, Jr. (Tina) of Eaton, IN; Donella Miller of Muncie, IN; two step-sons and one step-daughter, Shad Fields (Holly) of Redkey, IN; Shane Fields of Muncie, IN; Shelly Fields Henderson of Greenville, OH; step-mother, Mary Jane Bradburn; sister, Joyce Adams (Marvin) of Muncie, IN; grandchildren, James Conner (Michelle) of Muncie, IN; Robert Conner (Nicole) of Muncie, IN; Crystal Ashcraft (Dan) of Albany, IN; Lacie Bonner of Albany, IN; Riki Bonner of Eaton, IN; Yelenna Bonner of Eaton, IN; Heather Riley (Shaun) of Albany, IN; Tiffany Caudill (Daniel) of Muncie, IN; Jordan, Haley, Halie, Isaac, Austin, and Abby Fields; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Marcella Ruth (Webster) Bonner, and one sister, Gerri Verable.
Funeral services will be 10a.m. Tuesday May 3, 2011 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Tom Win will officiate the service. Burial will be at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, IN. Visitation will be on Monday May 2, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
