Obituary

PARKER CITY - Donald W. Clevenger, 87, of Parker City, passed away Tuesday morning, June 22, 2010 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center of Parker City.
He was born May 24, 1923 in Randolph County, the first born son of Paul H. and Idris D. (Wood) Clevenger. He was a 1941 graduate of Losantville High School.
Donald honorably served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was retired, after twenty years, in 1989 as Parts Manager for Muncie Volkswagon. He was a fifty year Master Mason with the Losantville Lodge # 674 and a member of Parker United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed spending his leisure time playing golf, cards and bingo. He also enjoyed fishing and was a man of strong faith in God.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Scroggin) Clevenger; two brothers, Max Clevenger (wife, Jean) of Losantville, IN and James Clevenger (wife, Jean Ann) of Losantville; a sister, Pauline Cates of Modoc; a sister-in-law, Marilu Clevenger of Modoc; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gordon Clevenger and Keith Clevenger (wife, Barbara); and a brother-in-law, Rex Cates.
A service to celebrate Don's life will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Parker United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum of Muncie.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parker United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
