Donald Otto Connerly, 88, of Muncie died early Monday morning, April 11th, 2016. He was born March 2nd, 1928 in Alton, IL and was the son of Otto & Ebba (Hokenson) Connerly.
Donald retired from AEP after 22 years of dedicated service. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Donald was an avid runner; he ran in several mini marathons and enjoyed swimming. He was active in track during high school and college, while on the track team for Ball State University his 4 x 100 relay team was undefeated.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Marjorie Elaine (Snyder) Connerly of Muncie; two sons Michael Connerly (Lori) of Hampton, GA and David Connerly (Janet) of Nolensville, TN; two daughters Linda Jones (Michael) of Muncie and Jo Ann Roahrig (Brent) of Aledo, TX; two granddaughters Michelle Jones-Haskell (Shaden) of Yorktown and Devynne Roahrig of Aledo, TX; a great- grandson Chase Haskell of Yorktown; a niece Patricia Hokenson (Alan) of Muncie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Juanita Taylor.
Funeral Services for Donald will be held Friday, April 15th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call Thursday, April 14th, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
