Obituary

Donald E. Crose, 83, of Yorktown, passed away on April 23, 2026, at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born in Muncie, Indiana, on November 16, 1942, to Rev. Sidney and Lydia (Morgan) Crose. He married Cheryll Nixon Flinn on, October 6, 2007.

He graduated from Muncie Central High School and attended Ball State University. Donald continuously supported Bearcat Basketball and the Class of 1960. He was a life-long salesman until his later years that he worked for IU Ball Memorial Hospital in guest relations. He attended True Light Baptist Church and Hazelwood Christian Church. He was also a member of the Yorktown Kiwanis Club and Sons of the American Revolution.

He enjoyed golfing at Maplewood Golf Course, singing bass in the church choir and Masterworks Chorale. Donald loved to walk while wintering in Florida.

Donald is survived by his wife, Cheryll Crose of Yorktown; first wife, Shirley (Shreves) Crose; children, John (Susan) Tissaw of Arizona, Charlotte “Shelley” (James) Layne of Muncie, and Donald (Dreama) Crose II of Farmland; stepchildren, Robert Coronato, Nick Coronato, Melanie Johnson, and Natalie Huber; sister, Carol Earls of Texas; brother, Michael (Suzie) Crose of Marion; grandchildren, Michelle, Kristie, Krystal, Kelly, Lee, Dustin, Christian, Hayley, and Vinny;16 great-grandchildren; and eight great- great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Sidney and Lydia (Morgan) Crose; brother, Howard “Bootie” Crose, and second wife, Sherry Diane (Black) Crose.

Arrangements entrusted to Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN 47303.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
